JONESBORO, Ill. -- Raymond E. Bowen, 71, of Jonesboro, died Friday, April 29, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Sept. 16, 1922, at Jonesboro, son of Guy and Hulda Reischauer Bowen. He and June Knupp were married Sept. 7, 1946, in Jonesboro.
Bowen was a retired captain from Vienna Correctional Center. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Anna VFW, Illinois Police Association, and Retired Correctional Officers. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, William Bowen of Lick Creek; four sisters, Dorothy Kohler, Louise Dillow, Betty Mowery, all of Anna, and Frances Lentz of Bradley.
Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Cooley and the Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
