Raymond D. Barks, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Aug. 11, 1914, at Sedgewickville, son of Frederick and Nettie Conrad Barks. He and Wilma Marie Heider were married June 3, 1939 in Cape Girardeau.
He was owner and operator of the B&W Ur Gas Company until he retired.
Survivors include his wife; one son, David W. Barks of Clarksville, Tenn.; three daughters, Carolyn Baron of Jackson, Brenda McClain of Lake of the Ozarks and Margaret Austin of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Paul Barks of Sedgewickville and Elmer Sample of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4:30-8 p.m. today at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. David V. Dissen will officiate with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
