CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Raymond Lee Ballard, 71, of Chaffee died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born July 13, 1932, at Ridgeway, Mo., son of Raymond H. and Eula Kitchen Ballard. He and LaVern Wiedefeld were married Feb. 3, 1951.
Ballard retired as an engineer with Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway Co. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and VFW Post 3127 in Chaffee.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Danny and Jim Bob Ballard of Chaffee, Michael Ballard of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a daughter, Darlene "Sis" Lewis of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Richard Combs officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Gi-rardeau.
