ZALMA -- Raymond B. Northern, 55, of Zalma died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at the family home.
He was born July 31, 1944, at Miner, the son of John Wesley and Mary Ida Wilson Northern. He married Patricia Ann Waggoner. She survives.
He was a retired building engineer for the Amtrak railroad.
He also is survived by his mother, Mary Ida Cummins of Sikeston; four daughters, Candi Jo Diedrich, Genoa City, Wis., Melissa Steiger, Cadott, Wis., Kaitlin Northern and Savanna Northern of the home; four brothers, Donald Northern of South Dakota, Charles Northern of Normandy, Mo., Paul Northern of Sikeston, Oscar Northern of Wisconsin; a half brother, Travis Cummins of Sikeston; two sisters, Hattie McDowell and Mary Hampton, both of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mitchell Jackson officiating. Burial will be at the Northern Quarters Cemetery near Zalma.
