CHAFFEE -- Raymond Bernard Coakley, 86, of Chaffee, died Sunday, July 12, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born June 1, 1906, in Buffalo, N.Y., son of Ben and Catherine Potter Coakley. He and Opal Stringfellow were married March 27, 1948.

Coakley retired from Thorngate Ltd. here in 1976, and was a member of First Assembly of God Church at Jackson. He was a member of the first Boy Scout troop at Chaffee, and was a volunteer with Chaffee Fire Department 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and served with Missouri National Guard 140th Infantry Band from 1926-47.

Survivors include his wife; a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Herbert Bruhn will officiate, assisted by the Revs. Gary Petty and Dean Heady Jr. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
