RAY WHITLEDGE

BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral srvice for Ray Whitledge of Bloomfield will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Vyron Yount and Jim Russell will officiate, with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Whitledge, 79, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1992, at Bloomfield Nursing Center.

He was born April 25, 1913, in Stoddard County, son of Lee and Martha Christian Whitledge. He and Meta Fortner were married Aug. 14, 1938. She died Oct. 29, 1967. He later married Gertie Lewis Sept. 11, 1970, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Joan O'Dell and Judy Coleman of Dexter, Joel Guiling of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Jay Whitledge of Bloomfield; a sister, Mildred Bennett of Bloomfield; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a stepdaughter and three stepsons.

He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a stepson.
