Ray Taylor Jr., 80, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Life Care Center.
He was born May 9, 1924, in Mounds, Ill., son of Ray and Marie Walters Taylor Sr. He and Betty Tripp were married Oct. 3, 1946, in Mounds.
Taylor was a member and representative of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
He served with the U.S. Army in North Africa during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Rayanna Myers of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Joan Martin and Evelyn Taylor of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, four brothers and three sisters.
A private family service will be held today.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cathedral.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
