Floyd "Ray" Shock, 83, of Jackson passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Ray was born July 2, 1938, in Austin, Arkansas, to the late Clarence and Beatrice Burns Shock. He and Nancy White were married at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau on July 9, 1992.

Ray graduated from Cabot (Arkansas) High School and began his career in the construction material field, working for several companies before retiring in 2006 from Atlas Roofing Corporation. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and a true friend to those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Nancy Shock; two daughters Beth (Daniel Cox) Shock of Jackson and Pam Alston of Little Rock, Arkansas; and four grandchildren, Jackson Shock, Norah Wade, Jason (Andrea) Robles and Ryan (Teresa) Beyersdorff.

Ray is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Elliot and Sara Robles and Samantha and Charles Beyersdorff, as well as his faithful companion, Ozzie the miniature golden doodle.

A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A private family burial will take place at a later date at the Apple Hill Cemetery in Beebee, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Apple Hill Cemetery, c/o Ray Hayen, 106 N. Hickory, Beebee, AR 72012.
