CHAFFEE -- Ray Leonard Roney, 84, of Chaffee, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1991, at Chaffee Nursing Center. He was born May 1, 1907, in Standard, La., son of Elvie Lee and Pearl Aslee Bunyard Roney. Roney was an inspector at Florsheim Shoe Co. here, retiring in 1972. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810. He moved here from Chicago in 1961...

CHAFFEE -- Ray Leonard Roney, 84, of Chaffee, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1991, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born May 1, 1907, in Standard, La., son of Elvie Lee and Pearl Aslee Bunyard Roney.

Roney was an inspector at Florsheim Shoe Co. here, retiring in 1972. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810. He moved here from Chicago in 1961.

Survivors include four sisters, Hazel Schepker, Mary Brockmeyer, Gladys Garrett and Virginia Vickery, all of Chaffee.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Charlie Shrum will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
