JACKSON -- Funeral service for Ray L. McNeely of Jackson Route 4 will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Keith McNeely will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

McNeely, 66 years old, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 31, 1925, at Advance, son of Guy and Lura Hawkins McNeely. He and the former Virginia Baker were married Nov. 28, 1947, in Cape.

McNeely was employed by Cape Girardeau Fire Department 20 years, was manager of Rust & Martin Warehouse 10 years, and was head custodian at Southeast Missouri State University, retiring in January 1989. He was an avid antique collector, and of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include two sons, Scott McNeely of Jackson, Keith McNeely of Farmington; five brothers, George, Lloyd and Russell McNeely of Cape, Lewis McNeely of Jackson Route 4, Dean McNeely of Arnold; five sisters, Carrie Darter, Juanita Schwab and Hannah Farrow of Cape, Marie Bollinger of Mountain Home, Idaho, Fern Tripp of High Ridge, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester, and one in infancy.
