JACKSON -- Ray L. Gerecke, 78, of Jackson died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Jackson, son of Louis and Freda Ahrens Gerecke. He and Lola Richards were married June 3, 1944, in Collinsville, Ill. She died Jan. 18, 1999...

JACKSON -- Ray L. Gerecke, 78, of Jackson died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Jackson, son of Louis and Freda Ahrens Gerecke. He and Lola Richards were married June 3, 1944, in Collinsville, Ill. She died Jan. 18, 1999.

Gerecke worked 20 years at Chrysler Automotive in St. Louis. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Alan Gerecke of Jackson; a brother, Charles Gerecke of Jackson; three sisters, Helen Lloyd of Cape Girardeau, Betty Renne of Jackson, and Dorthy Hanson of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffrey Sippy officiating. Burial will be in Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
