Randy Joe Venable, 55, of Scott City died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1953, at Cape Girardeau, son of Reece Hopper and Claudia Marie Smith Venable.
He was a mate for Wisconsin Barge Line and Luhr Brothers. He also worked in construction.

Survivors include a son, Josh Venable of Scott City; a daughter, Rachel Cano of Chicago; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Bill Kitchen officiating. Private burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
