Randy Wayne Schemel, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the home of his son in Jackson.
He was born June 11, 1952, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Lloyd E. and Anna M. Hafley Schemel. He and Vonda D. Dunivan were married Jan. 15, 1982, in Cape Girardeau.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Randy was the owner and operator of Stroke Prevention Plus in Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Vonda D. Schemel of Chaffee, Missouri; daughter, Amanda D. (Zach) Martinez of Jackson; sons, Gary Schemel of Ellisville, Missouri, and Greg M. (Joni) Schemel of Jackson; grandchildren, Austin Barnhart, Korey Martinez, Kayla Schemel, Dylan Schemel and Raegan Martinez; and sisters, Barbara Blackler of Hannibal, Missouri, and Donna M. Bailey of Willisville, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce E. Hale; and brothers, Gary L. Schemel and Daniel A. Schemel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family for funeral expenses.
