RALPHERD JONES

JACKSON -- Funeral service for Ralpherd Jones of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Revs. Morris Cobb and Bill Ellis will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8:30 a.m.

Jones, 84, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at Jackson Manor.

He was born March 31, 1912, at Burfordville, son of Fred and Clara Dell Procter Jones. He and Ruby Sides were married May 6, 1933. She died April 29, 1993.

Jones worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson a number of years. He was a member of Burfordville Baptist Church, an active deacon and taught Sunday School many years. He moved to Jackson in 1969 from Crump.

Survivors include a daughter, Joann Hahn of Jackson; three sisters, Helen Bollinger of Chaffee, Lillie Hanselman and Sarah Pogee of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and three sisters.
