MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Ralph Doyle Vesterby, 63, of Selmer, Tenn., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer.

He was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Indio, Calif., son of Doyle Frederick and Minnie May Ramsey Vesterby.

Vesterby was a pattern designer with Brown Shoe Co.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1964, as a rifle instructor at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and in Japan.

Survivors include two stepsons, Tony West of Selmer, Rickey West of Smithville, Miss.; five stepdaughters, Sandra Dickerson and Janet Dennison of Golden, Colo., Glenda Tucker and Barbara Knight of Amory, Miss., Tammy Yeargain of Pevely, Mo.; a brother, Royn "Curly" Vesterby of Desloge, Mo.; three sisters, Alice McMath of Grassy, Mo., Edna Pattie of Glenallen, Mo., Rose Vesterby of Marble Hill; and two stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Crader Cemetery, with the Rev. Gerald Huff officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Missouri Military Honors Team.
