JACKSON -- Funeral service for Ralph Lee Harris Sr. of Jackson was held Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Fred Burgard officiated, with burial in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Harris, 73, died Friday, Nov. 22, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 22, 1923, at Advance, son of Monroe Freeman and Althea Pixley Harris. He and Vivian Ross were married Nov. 11, 1945, in Advance.
Harris was general manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken before retiring. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, VFW Post 3838, and a 32nd Degree Mason. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ralph Harris Jr. of St. Charles; two daughters, Lynn Suhre of Cape Girardeau, Janice Hendricks of Jackson; two brothers, Robert Harris of Bloomfield, Lloyd Harris of Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
