Funeral service for Ralph F. Gruebmeyer, 2801 Bloomfield, was held Sunday at Pettett Funeral Chapel in Murphysboro, Ill. The Rev. William Matzat officiated, with burial in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park there.
Gruebmeyer, 68, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1992, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Jacob, Ill., son of John and Laura Alma Ross Gruebmeyer. He and Gladys M. Barnett were married May 27, 1972, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 1, 1976.
Gruebmeyer had worked at the Carbondale Post Office. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel in Cape Girardeau, was past commander of VFW Post 7190, and member of American Legion Post 127 in Murphysboro. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include cousins, Mabel Boulton of Murphysboro, Lorraine Wehrenberg of Red Bud, and Gladys Hughes of Grand Tower.
