ORAN, Mo. -- Ralph Diebold, 64, of Oran died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 9, 1943, at Oran, son of George and Eleanor L. ORAN, Mo. -- Ralph Diebold, 64, of Oran died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 9, 1943, at Oran, son of George and Eleanor L. LeGrand Diebold.

Diebold was a retired farmer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and Morley VFW Post 5368.

He was a frogman in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the 29th class of the underwater demolition team.

Survivors include a brother, Marvin Diebold of Oran; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances Rose and Clarence Nenninger of St. Ann, Mo., Donna Jean and Tim Rhodes of St. Mary, Mo.; seven nieces and nephews, Susan Drummond, Dan Nenninger, Darrell Nenninger, Deborah Diebold, Dawn Diebold-Cook, James Fish and Scott Diebold; and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery with military honors to be conducted.
