POPLAR BLUFF -- The Rev. Ralph D. Hathway, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, June 28, 1996, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 9, 1920, at Poplar Bluff.
He and Martha Casinger were married March 1, 1946, in Butler County.
He attended Grace Christian Fellowship Church. He was ordained Oct. 2, 1955, in the Christian Church of God.
He worked for Florsheim Shoe Co. for 44 years, including 19 years in Poplar Bluff and 20 years in Cape Girardeau. He also worked in West Plains and Paducah, Ky. He retired in 1985.
He served as pastor at several churches, including Church of God at J.Y., Mo., Victoria Mission at West Plains, the Agee Church in Poplar Bluff, and churches in Dexter and Williamsville.
He served in the Army's Red Arrow 128th Infantry in World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sandra Robbins of St. Charles; three sisters, Nellie England of Stringtown, Mo., and Violet Vinson and Juanita Raymer, both of Poplar Bluff; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call after 6 tonight at the Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff. The Revs. Brian Sharp and Vernon Kneir will officiate, with burial in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
