Ralph Collier

MARBLE HILL, Mo. — Ralph Collier, 78, of Marble Hill died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 19, 1930, in Commerce, Mo., son of Freeman and Esther Mitchell Collier. He and Frances E. Wagner were married Feb. 6, 1955.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Temple in Piedmont, Mo.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles and Brian Collier, both of Marble Hill and Michael Collier, of Conway, Ark.; three daughters, Rhonda Fahrenkrog, Esther McCormick and Beverly Lincoln, all of Marble Hill; a brother, Freeman Collier Jr., of Villa Ridge, Ill.; five sisters, Naomi Simmons, of Scott City, Carrie Trentham of Jackson, Barbara Kehoe and Helen Holland, both of St. Louis, and Charlotte Schneider, of Fredericktown, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. at Victory Baptist Temple in Piedmont, with the Rev. Elmo Parker and the Rev. Michael Collier officiating.

Burial will be at the Glenallen Cemetery in Glenallen, Mo.

Military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Honors Team.
