Raford D. Bettiegrue, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 14, 1912, at Patton, Mo., son of William and Emma Killian Bettiegrue. He and Hazel Estes were married Aug. 2, 1932, at Marble Hill, Mo. She died Oct. 1, 1951. He and Pearlie Fulkerson were married July 7, 1962, at Cape Girardeau. She died Feb. 1, 1984.
He worked for the International Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau for 25 years. He was retired from being a Pentecostal minister for 20 years. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Effie M. Eldridge of Jackson and JoAnne B. Mackey of Uniontown, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Lora M. Gramlisch of Zalma, Mo.; one stepson, Lawrence Allen Russell of Ware, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, three stepsons, one daughter, one stepdaughter, three half brothers and one half sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Scopus, Mo., with the Rev. Micah Bristow officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838 and the Missouri Honor Team.
