ALTO PASS, Ill. -- Radcliff Allen Vancil, 86, of Alto Pass died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1911, in Anna, son of Rolla and Rosa Castenhuber Vancil. He and Mabel Norton were married Aug. 1, 1936, in Pontiac, Mich.
Vancil retired from Fisher Body Plant in 1959, and after moving back to Alto Pass he worked at Koppers Co. 13 years.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Alto Pass, and taught the men's Sunday School class more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass from 5-8 p.m. today, and after noon Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Revs. Carroll Toler and Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
