CHAFFEE -- Quentin Stephen Westrich, 65, of rural Chaffee passed away at his home Monday, May 1, 2000.
He was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of Fridolin and Agatha Glueck Westrich. He married Barbara Jean Spies May 11, 1957, in Scott City. She preceded him in death Aug. 31, 1979. He later married Barbara Andrews Welter Oct. 17, 1989, at Benton.
Westrich co-owned Westfelt Construction Company in Benton, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Cathaul and Bruce Westrich, all of Chaffee; two daughters, Gina Uhrhan of Sikeston, Gail Rockett of Benton; a stepdaughter, Michelle Schaefer of Oran; a brother, Gilbert Westrich of Chaffee; and a sister, Rita Wahl of Cape Girardeau.
He is also survived by five grandsons, Dustin, Sean and Landry Westrich, Austin Uhrhan and Brandon Sandvos; four granddaughters, Ashley and April Rockett, Chelsea Uhrhan and Brianna Westrich; two stepgrandsons, Adam and Mitchell Stephen Schaefer.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 5 p.m. today. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30, followed by KC prayers at 6:45.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
