CHARLESTON -- Queen Ester Nelson, 85, of Charleston, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1994.
She was born July 8, 1909, in Sumners, Miss., daughter of Richard and Parrilee Greenwood Banks. She married William H. Nelson, who preceded her in death.
Nelson was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church, former choir member, and served on the Mother Board. She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter 17 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two nephews, the Rev. Robert and Willie James of Carbondale.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Church.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence James officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
