SIKESTON -- Funeral for Q.T. Quertermous of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, with Travis Quertermous officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. SIKESTON -- Funeral for Q.T. Quertermous of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, with Travis Quertermous officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Quertermous, 73, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at his home.

He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Charleston, son of Clarence Auburn and Thelma Quertermous. He and Cecil Mae Little were married Oct. 1, 1948.

Quertermous worked 35 years with Boyer Construction Co., retiring as superintendent. He was a member of the VFW Post in Charleston. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diane Groves and Jan Hon of Sikeston; four brothers, Leslie Quertermous of Diehlstadt, Dennis Quertermous of Bertrand, Glenn and Kenneth Quertermous of Charleston; three sisters, Ramona Fletcher of Ricon, Ga., Jeannie Williamson of Birmingham, Ala., Helen Strickland of Senatobia, Miss.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a grandson.
