CHARLESTON -- Pinky Rowe, 80, of Charleston died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, at Sikeston Health Care Facility.
She was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Charleston, daughter of Horace and Nettie Priester Coon. She married Howard Rowe, who died in January 1953.
Rowe had been a bookkeeper for a number of local businesses, worked for the American Red Cross organizing blood drives and participating in national disaster relief efforts, and worked many volunteer hours at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She lived in Charleston most of her life, and was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Rowe of Charleston, Russell Rowe of Sikeston; a daughter, Anne Lawson of Cabot, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at St. Henry's Church from 5-7 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 7 p.m. today, with the Rev. Gerald Brown and Msgr. Mike Swalina officiating. Private committal service will be Friday at Calvary Cemetery.
