Phyllis Tedlie Watkins, 75, of Sikeston, Mo., died Friday, May 3, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born March 31, 1927 in Hartland, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Wendell Phillips and Claire Augusta Boyer Tedlie Sr. She and Richard L. "Dick" Watkins were married July 14, 1949, in St. Louis. He died Nov. 21, 1994...

Phyllis Tedlie Watkins, 75, of Sikeston, Mo., died Friday, May 3, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born March 31, 1927 in Hartland, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Wendell Phillips and Claire Augusta Boyer Tedlie Sr. She and Richard L. "Dick" Watkins were married July 14, 1949, in St. Louis. He died Nov. 21, 1994.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sikeston. She was one of the original nurses at the Missouri Delta Medical Center and worked as a nurse at the Regional Diagnostic Center and in Sikeston Public Schools. For 17 years, she was the director of nurses at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three sons, Terry Watkins of St. Charles, Mo., Ted Watkins of Washington, Mo., and Tim Watkins of Chicago; one daughter, Allison E. Hagen of Sikeston; one sister, Norma Somerville of Saint John New Brunswick, Canada; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Phillips Watkins, and a brother, Wendell P. "Bud" Tedlie.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Ned Bowden officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
