Phyllis Bono

Phyllis Ruth Bono, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 15, 2021, at Westfield Nursing Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Cape Girardeau to the late Glenn and Mary Moore Huckstep.

Phyllis was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and earned a master's degree from Southeast Missouri State University. She worked as a speech pathologist.

Phyllis is survived by four children, Cheryl Olson of Jackson; Elizabeth LaRue of Buffalo, Missouri; James Michael "Mike" Bono of St. James, Missouri; and Robert Bono of Shertz, Texas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family service and burial will be held.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Phyllis.
