Phillip Leon Rainey, 43, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in an automobile accident on County Road 635.
He was born Dec. 14, 1956, at Bloomfield, son of Hubert D. and Ruth Allene Strobel Rainey. He and Jo Ann Lindsay were married Feb. 14, 1975, at Neely's Landing.
Rainey was a heavy equipment operator with Cape Girardeau Public Works Department 17 years. He also worked at Rainey Propane Gas since 1983, which he purchased Jan. 1, 2000. He also drove a truck for Jerry Lipps about three years. He was a graduate of the former University High School.
Survivors include three sons, Jeromie, Travis and Josh Rainey, all of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Chris Rainey of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Debbie Hall and Cecilia Anderson of Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Bryan McAlister officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
