ANNA, Ill. -- Phillip R. Otrich, 66, of Anna died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Anna, son of H. Don and Elsie Marie Vaughn Otrich. He and Carol L. Treece were married June 1, 1977, in Anna. A lifelong resident of Union County, Otrich was a 1957 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from Southern Illinois University...

ANNA, Ill. -- Phillip R. Otrich, 66, of Anna died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at his home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Anna, son of H. Don and Elsie Marie Vaughn Otrich. He and Carol L. Treece were married June 1, 1977, in Anna.

A lifelong resident of Union County, Otrich was a 1957 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from Southern Illinois University.

He taught school in Vienna, Ill., was an award-winning pharmaceutical salesman with Smith-Klein and French Co. of the E.F. Emling Co. in Chicago, and then farmed. He was named Union County Conservation Farmer of the Year in 1998.

Otrich was a member of First Baptist Church in Anna, Anna-Jonesboro Elks Lodge 1641, SIU Alumni Association, SIU Forestry Department, and Illinois Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Otrich of Anna; a daughter, Christine Gramman of Breese, Ill.; a sister, Susan Graham of Ladue, Mo.; and a grandson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Roy Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
