SCOTT CITY -- Phillip Boda Halter, 79, of Scott City died Friday, June 19, 1992, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 23, 1913 in Chaffee, son of Phillip and Catherine Welter Halter.

He was married to Betty Hindman Hunsaker on Feb. 16, 1947. She survives of Chaffee.

He was a retired maintenance-of-way engineer on the Frisco Railroad. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.

Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, David Halter of Scott City; two stepsons, Billy Hunsaker of Chaffee and Donald Hunsaker of Sikeston; three stepdaughters, Maxine Scott of Chaffee, Joann Rister of Scott, and Diane Gregerson of St. Louis; one brother; two sisters; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with the Rev. Alan Saunders officiating.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
