ZALMA -- Alfred "Pete" Slaughter, 64, of Zalma died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at his home.

He was born June 6, 1933, at Gipsy, son of George and Elizabeth Blake Slaughter. He and Evelyn Rogers were married July 28, 1956, in Mississippi.

Slaughter was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Community Church of Christ at Lowndes.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Pete and Toby Slaughter of Puxico, Tim Slaughter of McGee, Steve Slaughter of O'Fallon, Mike Slaughter of Zalma; a daughter, Jan Slaughter of Dudley; a sister, Ruth Watkins of Doniphan; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance from 4:30-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Community Church of Christ, with Jack and Dale Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
