SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Roy "Pete" Long of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Revs. Dewayne Coleman and Gloria Capshaw will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Long, 61, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Bollinger County, son of Julius and Emma Tankersley Long. He and Bonnie Casey were married Aug. 1, 1957.

Long was a concrete finisher with Freeman's Construction Co.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stanley Long of Sikeston, Brian Tong of Germany; a daughter, Janie Green of Sikeston; a brother, Billy Long of Miner; a sister, Betty James of Miner; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, five brothers, and three sisters.
