Peggy J. "Peg" Pollard, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 28, 1940, in Lexington, Kentucky, to William Henry and Edith Marie Hickey Delaney. She and Gerald E. "Jerry" Pollard were married Jan. 5, 1958, in Lexington.
Peg loved helping others and serving Jesus Christ. She loved being "Nan" to her grandchildren. She loved cooking and preparing meals for her family and friends. She also loved keeping, teaching and nurturing "Chapel Kids."
She was a very active member of Cape Bible Chapel.
Her loving survivors include her husband, Gerald E. "Jerry" Pollard; two daughters, Tammie Lou (Sam) Scholl of Lowndes, Missouri, and Lisa Carol (Jerry) Beckett of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles Allen (Betty) Delaney of Lexington; four grandchildren, Kara Beckett (David) Hecht of Cape Girardeau, Beth Scholl (Jairo) Meza of Cape Girardeau, Jessica Scholl (Justin) Bain of Dogwood, Missouri, and Eric (Teresa) Wilke of Cape Girardeau; and seven great-grandchildren, Anna Wilke, Olivia Wilke, Delaney Bain, Will Bain, Arington Bain, Avery Meza and Elias Meza.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Henry Delaney Jr.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Charlie Delaney and Eric Coher officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service and will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
