Peggy Ann McCall, 68, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Oct. 23, 1951, in Anna, Illinois, to Charles Herbert and Ethel May Kelly Wright.
She was a 1969 graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, Illinois.
She was a licensed practical nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center for more than 35 years. She took pride in her career there and found joy in healing. Throughout her career, she made great friends she thought of as family.
Peggy was a joyful person who loved sharing a laugh with her children and grandchildren. She was delighted to meet seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren in her time. They lovingly knew her as Granny.
She loved and cherished her fur babies, Jake, Bessie and Herb. She spent every moment she could making sure they were happy and felt her love. She was an excellent quilter, avid gardener and lifelong reader. She found joy in making beauty and sharing with her family.
Her passing leaves a hole in a family still reeling from the recent passing of her daughter, Kim. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her son, William "Bill" Corley of Jackson; daughter, Crystal Corley of Caseyville, Illinois; grandchildren, Matthew, Alex, Eric, Scottie, Caleb, Samantha and Dakota; and great-grandchildren, Addison, Alyssa, Leon and Brynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kimber "Kim" Osborne.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
