SIKESTON -- Peggy LaFont, 77, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, July 11, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Clarkton, daughter of Edward and Stella Clem Freeman. She and Gerald LaFont were married Nov. 15, 1944. The couple owned and operated LaFont Grocery Store many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and its choir, and Order of Eastern Star...
SIKESTON -- Peggy LaFont, 77, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, July 11, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Clarkton, daughter of Edward and Stella Clem Freeman. She and Gerald LaFont were married Nov. 15, 1944.
The couple owned and operated LaFont Grocery Store many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and its choir, and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Shirley Bush of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Jim Guffie officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
