ANNA, Ill. -- Elma Lorena "Peggy" Baker, 91, of Anna died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at City Care Center in Cobden. She was born Oct. 28, 1906, at Gale, daughter of Pete and Effie Shipman Aden. She and Sherman L. "Jimmie" Baker were married Jan. 26, 1936, at Union, Mo. He died Oct. 11, 1971...

ANNA, Ill. -- Elma Lorena "Peggy" Baker, 91, of Anna died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at City Care Center in Cobden.

She was born Oct. 28, 1906, at Gale, daughter of Pete and Effie Shipman Aden. She and Sherman L. "Jimmie" Baker were married Jan. 26, 1936, at Union, Mo. He died Oct. 11, 1971.

Baker was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Baker of Anna; a sister, Fahren Gillespie of Buncombe; a brother, Leonard Aden of Anna; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
