PEARL PETERS

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Pearl Peters Jr. 71, of Gray Ridge, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Gray Ridge, son of Pearl and Maggie Hart Peters Sr. He and Joyce Knox were married April 20, 1979, at Gray Ridge. She survives.

He had worked for Fleming Foods and was of the Baptist faith.

Other survivors include four sons, Mark Peters of Philadelphia, Pa., Ron Peters of Denton, Texas, Todd Peters of Sikeston and Darrin Knox of Essex, Mo.; four daughters, Valerie Walker of Jefferson City, Mo., Rhonda Brase of St. Charles, Ill., Tracey Plunk of Matthews, Mo., and Shannon Mullin of Gray Ridge; a sister, Nellie Julian of Alton, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in the Essex Cemetery.
