DEXTER -- Pearl King, 85, of St. Charles, formerly of Puxico, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Aug. 13, 1912, at Puxico, daughter of Alexander and Elva Oakley Patterson.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Puxico and attended the Harvester Christian Church in St. Charles. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Puxico, Chapter 422. She had lived in St. Charles since 1987.
She married Edward J. Reiter in Cape Girardeau County on June 12, 1933. He died in 1949. She married Dolph F. King at Bloomfield on Feb. 12, 1955. He died Jan. 5, 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Gerry Bailey of St. Charles; three step-sons, Donald Reiter and George King, both of Puxico, and Donald King of South Dakota; two stepdaughters, Betty Hendrix of Alton, Ill., and Edna Wilkison of Bloomfield; two sisters, Etta Schmer of St. Louis and Wilma Sifford of Puxico; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and three sisters.
Service will be held in First Christian Church at Puxico at 2 p.m. today, with the Rev. Wiley McGhee officiating.
Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Puxico, is in charge of arrangements.
