CHARLESTON -- Pearl E. Smith, 73, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Mississippi County, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1990 at her home in Joplin. She was born Aug. 6, 1917 in Charleston, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Jackson Fowler. On Dec. 26, 1942, she married Russell Smith, who survives in Joplin...

CHARLESTON -- Pearl E. Smith, 73, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Mississippi County, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1990 at her home in Joplin.

She was born Aug. 6, 1917 in Charleston, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Jackson Fowler.

On Dec. 26, 1942, she married Russell Smith, who survives in Joplin.

In addition, she is survived by three brothers, Aubrey Fowler, Wyatt, Freeman Fowler, Charleston, Melvie Fowler, Tulsa.

One brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of First Baptist Church of Charleston, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove cemetery.
