PERRYVILLE - Pearl C. Stortz, 80, a lifelong resident of Perry County, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1991. She was born March 19, 1911, the daughter of William Lyons Smith and Josephine Katherine Lukefahr Smith. She had worked as a reporter for KSGM radio in Perryville. On Jan. 28, 1929, she married Fred F. Stortz in Perry County. He died March 8, 1977...

PERRYVILLE - Pearl C. Stortz, 80, a lifelong resident of Perry County, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1991.

She was born March 19, 1911, the daughter of William Lyons Smith and Josephine Katherine Lukefahr Smith.

She had worked as a reporter for KSGM radio in Perryville. On Jan. 28, 1929, she married Fred F. Stortz in Perry County. He died March 8, 1977.

Surviving are: one daughter, Sheila Martin of Perryville; one son, Gerald F. Stortz of Perryville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

She was one of the founding members of the Mother's Club at St. Vincent de Paul parish.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish Church in Perryville, with Father Henry Grodecki officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Visitation will be tonight from 4-9, with a wake service at 7 at Drayton Funeral Home in Perryville.
