PERRYVILLE -- Pearl B. Modde, 86, of Perryville, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 16, 1907, at Perryville, daughter of Leonidas A. and Josephine C. Hoffman Sutterer. She and Herman E. Modde were married July 27, 1925, in St. Louis. He died Feb. 23, 1971.
Modde was a postmaster at Belgique from 1960-70. She was a member of Ladies Sodality and Ladies of Charity at St. Vincent's Church, Daughters of Isabella, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and Perry County Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores Offill and Sister Gil Marie Modde of St. Louis; two sons, Stephen Modde of Chicago, and Dale Modde of Salem; a sister, Cleora Ernst of Perryville; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and sister.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with burial in Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery at Belgique.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4:30-9 p.m. today. The wake will be at 7, followed by Daughters of Isabella service.
