Pauline Gowin, 102, of Olive Branch, Ill., died at 1 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 11, 1905, in Crawford County, Ill., to John and Nellie (Stoltz) Alexander. She married Kenneth Gowin on Sept. 12, 1929. He preceded her in death June 8, 1992.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Terry Gowin of Olive Branch; a daughter, Carol Ann Hoerr of Smithton, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, Ted Gowin, on May 21, 1980, two brothers, Ross and Lex Alexander, and two sisters, Letha Tracy and Hersey Levinson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Crain Funderal Home in Tamms, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
