Pauline Cross Smith, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 20, 1919 in Advance, Mo., to William and Amy Kennedy Musgraves.
She married Johnie W. Smith on Dec. 21, 1940. He died Aug. 19, 1985. She later married Fred Cross Jr. in 1987 and he died April 10, 1995.
She was a sales clerk for JC Penney in Cape Girardeau for more than 20 years. She later became an accomplished real estate agent and retired from Cape Realty in 1985.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons Jerry L. (Ruth) Smith of Dallas and Jack W. Smith of Cape Girardeau; daughter Jean A. (Steve) Wilson of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Bruce (Sherri) Smith of Houston, Lisa (Barry) Scroggins of Jackson, Scott C. Smith of Memphis, Tenn., Shawn (Robyn) Nesler and Katie (Matt) Britt of Cape Girardeau; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; sister Jewell Musgraves; and brothers James Musgraves, Wilson Musgraves and Charles Musgraves.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lorimier Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom Sullenger officiating.
