Paul "Chuck" Urhahn, 55, of Dublin, Ga., passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness.

Mr. Urhahn was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Leon "Gumbo" and Verneda Welter Urhahn.

He attended Guardian Angel Grade School and graduated from Oran High School in 1971.

Urhahn was retired from the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a son, Paul J. Urhahn of Crawford County, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Urhahn; granddaughter, Harley Samantha Urhahn; and a grandson, Dustin Gauge Urhahn, all of Warner Robins, Ga.; four brothers, James (Geraldine) Urhahn of Sikeston, Mo., Tom (Clare) Urhahn of Oran, Mo., August (Cathy) Urhahn of Scott City, Rick Urhahn of Sikeston; four sisters, Mary Catherine (P.J.) Schott of Crestwood, Mo., Linda (Paul) Hess of Malden, Mo., Anna Mae (Jim) Stringfellow of Millington, Tenn., Laurie (Chuck) Smith of Overland, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service was held with Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements.

A memorial Mass in his honor will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 5 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
