FRIEDHEIM - Paul Ray Ahrens, of Friedheim Route 1, died Thursday, April 2, 1992 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where he had been a patient for five days. He was 56.
Ahrens was born at Cape Girardeau Jan. 30, 1936 to August and Emma Long Ahrens. He married Shelvy Kirn on April 26, 1957 at Cape Girardeau. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother; a son, Paul K. Ahrens of Friedheim; daughters Debbie Toole of Cape Girardeau and Kathy Svehla of Oak Ridge; brothers George Ahrens of Oak Ridge and Robert Ahrens of Friedheim; sisters Mary Crites and Virginia Girard, both of Oak Ridge, and Inez Hobeck of Daisy.
Three grandchildren also survive.
He was employed by Lewis Mobile Service in Jackson for many years and later worked at Buchheit's store in Biehle for 11 years. Ahrens worked at Atlas Plastics until becoming disabled in 1981.
He was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church at Biehle.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maurus, with the Rev. Joseph Eilers officiating. Parish prayers will be held today at 7 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
