CHAFFEE -- Paul R. Varble, 75, of Chaffee, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Wayne County, son of Alfred Poe and Fannie Bell Jones Varble. He and Eileen Neal Wondel were married Oct. 1, 1949...

CHAFFEE -- Paul R. Varble, 75, of Chaffee, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Wayne County, son of Alfred Poe and Fannie Bell Jones Varble. He and Eileen Neal Wondel were married Oct. 1, 1949.

Varble was a cutter at Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee, retiring in 1983. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Melvern Wondel of Maryland Heights, Mark Varble of Topeka, Kan.; a daughter, Becky Hanlon of Chaffee; a brother, Charles Varble of Chaffee; a sister, Velma Huey of Cape Girardeau, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Charley Shrum will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee after 2 p.m. today.
