CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Paul DeWayne "Flip" Pfefferkorn, 79, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at the family home.
He was born in Chaffee April 15, 1934, to the late Raymond and Alvena Witt Pfefferkorn.
Paul married Mary Jane Thompson Oct. 24, 1959, and she preceded him in death Jan. 22, 2011.
Flip was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and St. Ambrose Men's Club. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran, Mo. Paul was a past exalted ruler of the Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one son Kurt (Karla) Pfefferkorn, Chaffee; three daughters, Karen (David) Glueck and Diana (Chris) Knutson, both of Chaffee, and Stephanie (Rob) Lawrence of Sullivan, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he also was preceded in death by one son, Michael Pfefferkorn.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, followed by an Elks service at 7 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Chaffee High School Booster Club.
