Paul William Ostendorf, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, at his home.
He was born April 30, 1936, in Cape Girardeau to August and Lucinda Stock Ostendorf.
He and Rosemary Reynolds were married June 8, 1963, at Scott City.
Paul served in the National Guard.
He worked for Sheetmetal Workers Local 36 for 58 years.
He was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing cards with friends, making homemade wine and was a lifelong Cardinals and Chiefs fan.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Ostendorf of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Paula (Richard) Guinter of Cape Girardeau; son, Jeffrey (Rachel) Ostendorf of Uniontown, Missouri; sister, Ruth (Leon) Schlosser of Scott City; brother-in-law, Ken Alderman of Cape Girardeau; three granddaughters, Brandy Guinter of Round Rock, Texas, and Erin and Aubrey Ostendorf, both of Uniontown; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth St., Santa Monica, CA 90401 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
