GRAVEL HILL, Mo. -- Paul E. Hoxworth, 86, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1915, son of John and Ella Hester Hoxworth. He and Mary Lou Grampp were married Nov. 19, 1932. She died Nov. 30, 1995.
Hoxworth served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1945 as a private first class. He had lived and farmed in the Gravel Hill community since 1953. He had worked for Delta Asphalt, Rock Hill Asphalt and Penzel Construction. He retired in 1977. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 513.
Survivors include three sons, Leo Hoxworth of Conway, Ark., Jerry Hoxworth of Marble Hill, Mo., and Kenny Hoxworth of Millersville, Mo.; three daughters, Shirley Barks and Jo Ann Knoll, both of Marble Hill and Judy Bryant of Carson City, Nev.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and eight sisters.
Funeral will be at a later date at the County Line Baptist Cemetery at County Line Baptist Church.
McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
